Episode 9: “The Widow’s Farm”
Jane Doe, Agent 6732
Jane and Pascal are brought to a secluded farmhouse belonging to Claudette Bertrand, a woman shaped by loss and survival. Inside her kitchen, Claudette listens as Simone explains that Moreau’s network has collapsed and that these strangers are asking for help. Claudette doesn’t offer comfort or sympathy—only scrutiny. Before extending even the smallest trust, she asks the only question that matters in occupied France: whether they are Gestapo. Jane’s calm, uncompromising answer earns a silent verdict. The door isn’t fully open—but the first test is passed.
Episode 8: “Trust No One”
Jane Doe, Agent 6732
Jane and Pascal are confronted in the backroom when Simone steps through the curtain, immediately recognizing Pascal as a radio operator tied to London. Jane denies everything, but Simone dismantles the cover with ease—she knows the codes, the timing, and the tradecraft. Then comes the truth: Simone isn’t just a café owner. She ran messages for Moreau for two years, and now he’s been arrested. With the network fractured and no handlers left, Simone makes a dangerous offer: someone has to keep the lines open. Jane is forced to decide whether Simone is their only ally… or their next mistake.
Episode 7: “Pascal Lives”
Jane Doe, Agent 6732
Jane follows Simone into the café’s backroom, expecting the worst. Instead, she finds Pascal alive—shaken, exhausted, but intact, with the radio still in his possession. Relief gives way to urgency as Jane quickly secures the space and assesses his condition. Pascal escaped by chance, not skill, and the narrow survival only underscores how fragile their situation is. When Jane reveals that Moreau has been arrested, the truth settles in: they’ve saved each other and the mission, but the network is gone. From here on out, they’re operating alone.
Episode 6: “The Code”
Jane Doe, Agent 6732
Jane tests the café’s recognition protocol with a casual question — and immediately knows she’s failed it.
Simone’s reaction is instant and unmistakable: the warmth disappears, and the rules change.
In a low whisper, he delivers the truth. Dr. Moreau — her only contact — has been arrested. Days ago.
The network is no longer safe, and names are now liabilities.
Jane leaves the exchange with one certainty: the line she relied on is gone — and whatever comes next, she’s facing it alone.

Jane Doe, Agent 6732
Valençay main square at dawn, just outside Le Chêne café. The OUVERT sign is visible. It’s 6:57 AM. Le Chêne Café is the point of contact. Jane goes in, and Simone is behind the bar, wiping the counter. There are a few customers. Jane Doe is entering, wet, exhausted. Simone says, “Bonjour. You’re early for a traveler.” Jane Doe goes to the counter. Simone’s eyes are sharp, assessing. Jane replies, “I walked from Châtillon. The trains weren’t running.” Simone answers, “They never are.” Simone brings chicory coffee and dark bread. She studies Jane’s hands (no ring). Simone asks, “You’re not from here.” Jane responds and keeps her cover, “My husband’s family is from here. The Dubois farm. Do you know it?” Simone’s face has a hint of recognition, and she replies, “I know it. You’re Marguerite? Philippe’s widow?” Jane thinks to herself, “She knows my cover. But does she know more?”
Episode 4: “Pascal”
Jane Doe, Agent 6732
Dawn breaking over the French countryside. Jane Doe is walking along the tree line, with soaked clothes, exhausted. Her hands are checking her pockets. Pulling out waterproof documents: Identity papers. Ration cards. A letter from Philippe’s mother, her identity card, which says “MARGUERITE DUBOIS. Widow.” All lies. She is stripping off her wet flight suit, revealing civilian clothes underneath.
She’s burying the flight suit and parachute in the hole she dug, covering it with dirt and leaves. She wonders, “Where’s Pascal? Did he make it?”
