Dawn breaking over the French countryside. Jane Doe is walking along the tree line, with soaked clothes, exhausted. Her hands are checking her pockets. Pulling out waterproof documents: Identity papers. Ration cards. A letter from Philippe’s mother, her identity card, which says “MARGUERITE DUBOIS. Widow.” All lies. She is stripping off her wet flight suit, revealing civilian clothes underneath.
She’s burying the flight suit and parachute in the hole she dug, covering it with dirt and leaves. She wonders, “Where’s Pascal? Did he make it?”

Underwater. Jane Doe is struggling with the parachute harness. She breaks the surface, gasping. The parachute is drifting downstream. She is dragging the waterlogged parachute up the muddy riverbank in the moonlight. Her face was wet, determined, as she repeated her mantra: My name is Jane Doe. I am agent number 6732.
